Mobile Safari Expeditions
A mobile safari is a tented safari camping that transfers guests in four wheel drive vehicles from camp to camp. The camps are pre-erected and, unless otherwise specified. At Bush Baby Calls our camps are set up by a full staff compliment that head out prior to the safari group and set up the standard of camp on offer before the guides and patrons arrive. The tents are serviced daily whilst you are out enjoying your morning game drives.
We are a mobile safari hence you get to enjoy the benefits of having access to private campsites in some of the prime and pristine areas. The company only provides a dining tent with excellent meals as well as snacks prepared by the chef on request or preferably the travelers have to book for standard catered mobile safaris. We use modern converted 4x4 Land Cruiser game viewers which allow for excellent game viewing with enough room for graphic enthusiasts. The seats are solely built to allow for excellent comfort and foot rests to make stability easy.
Our company provides our clientele with the standard safari tents which are measured as 4.5mx3m including en suite. Inside the tents you will find twin beds, bedding, sufficient solar lighting in the bedroom and bathroom. Other amenities such as soap, shampoo and towels are also made available.
Mokoro (dugout canoe)
(mekoro plural), is a traditional canoe like vessel commonly used in the Okavango Delta as a popular mode of transport and now utilized for game viewing safaris. The mekoro has become the iconic symbol of the Delta and is a popular way for visitors to explore the Okavango while on safari and it carries two passengers while the boat man stands at the stern using a long pole called a “ngashi” to pole or push the mokoro forward.
At bush baby calls we have two mokoro trips which are “fully catered mokoro trips “in this trip our clientele are provided with breakfast, a drink, water, lunch and “budget mokoro trips” where the clients provide themselves with food from breakfast till supper times.
It is easier and more appealing to enjoy the view of the famous and world known heritage site called the Okavango Delta by using a boat because in that manner it’s nicer to enjoy the flora and fauna of this beautiful destination. The Okavango delta is also well known to house the most prominent birds. It is as well advisable to visit the delta between March and November whereby the game concentrates on permanent water sources because of the dryness of the area.
In our establishment expect only the best service when it comes to boat cruising because not only do we pass by the eminent Moremi game reserve but we promise you a pleasant stay in our “bedded en-suite meru tents”. Under our boating safaris expenses such as the boat, fuel, professional guide, cook/ camp hand, shared ablutions, park fees, camping fees, equipment, all meals, bottled water, fruit juice (at breakfast) table wine (at dinner), Okavango air rescue coverage, extra camp staff, local beer and ciders are taken care of. On top of that we send a supply boat ahead even for 3 people.
Scenic flights - for adventurers’ tourists the best view of the amazing Okavango Delta is by viewing from the top. Okavango delta registered as one of the world heritage sites why not take pleasure in viewing it fully by the use of a flight. In that way you get to enjoy it better as well as talk about it better. Not only that but have the best memories and at the end have an experience of a lifetime.
Game walks - For true lovers of wildlife, nothing beats the adventure of getting close to nature on foot! Your Guide will lead you through pristine African Bushveld, stopping for anything of interest. Animal encounters take on a completely different feeling, once you come down to their level. And the silence allows you to listen to bird calls, appreciate the vegetation and be overwhelmed by the ways of the termite. For many, this is a highlight of their safari experience! Once you have got close-up with Africa’s Big Game and taken all the photos that you want to, the time has come to get down to their level and experience a safari through the soles of your shoes.
