When is the best time to go on Safari?
The best time for African safari tours is in the peak season(June-October) which normally is a fully booked period in the local camps & lodges, so the best lead time would 8-12 months in advance. Knowing how many days you want to spend in Africa and at what time of year is very important information to have when you start planning your itinerary. Not only will this influence what you’ll see and experience, it also has a big impact on your budget.
Can I travel with kids on a Safari?
In terms of age restriction we will accept participants from 6 years of age (accompanied by an adult) and 16 years of age unaccompanied. Please understand that our unfenced bush camps are all in dangerous game area and it is with the participant’s safety in mind that this restriction is in place.
How much does it cost?
Safari packages differ in price depending on destination/location, activities, park fees, type of accommodation, mode of transport and the number of participants/group size. On average, a mobile safari trip costs around $350 per day inclusive of all charges.
What will my payment cover?
Rates are fully inclusive of Services of a Professional Guide and support crew throughout the safari, Provision of all camping equipment, spacious walk in tents, Fixed frame raised beds with 100mm thick mattress(fully dressed with cotton linen and duvets), All meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner) with one soda or water with each lunch and dinner, All National Park fees, camping fees etc as well as the Game viewing vehicle throughout the safari
Is there a deadline for bookings?
There is no guarantee of availability at any time, but can suggest that the sooner you book the stronger the likelihood will be that we can offer you a space on course. The balance of all the money due, including any surcharges applicable at that time, must be received by the Company or their authorized travel agent not later than 60 days before the start of your safari. You will be advised at the time of booking when this is the case. In the case of non-payment of the balance by the due date, the Company reserves the rights to treat your booking as cancelled and cancellation charges will apply.
Is it possible to cancel after booking confirmation?
Cancellation of any booking must be received in writing and acknowledged by BUSH BABY
CALLS(PTY)LTD. If a booking is cancelled with the consent of BUSH BABY CALLS(PTY)LTD, the latter shall retain the full deposit. Should a person cancel a safari and cannot find an immediate replacement:
a) If Bush Baby Calls(PTY)LTD has 4 weeks or more notice, only the deposit is forfeited.
b) If has less than 4 weeks’ notice, the deposit and an additional cancellation fee will be payable by the client as follows:
31-22 days 40% of total amount
21-15 days 60% of total amount
14-0 days 100% of total amount
c) If you fail to join a safari or join it after departure, or leave it prior to its completion, no reimbursement whatsoever will be made
What are the safety measures on mobile camps?
In our 11 years of operation we have not yet had any tourist fall victim to a serious incident of crime. Our camps are guarded by our registered camp assistants while you head out for your daily safari expeditions.
What items can I bring?
Travel light with casual clothing for the day and a jersey or tracksuit for the evenings. (A warm jacket is essential for winter months). Do not take much clothing. Take a good pair of walking shoes. Do not forget a torch, water bottle, swimsuit, hat, sun-block cream, binoculars and camera. Allow enough money for souvenirs, evenings out, drinks, special excursions and personal expenses
OPTIONAL ITEMS: Binoculars, Reading material, Wildlife checklist, Money belt, Insect repellent, Sunblock, Spare spectacles or contact lenses
How can I make my Reservation?
Reservations are made by contacting your agent or directly with Bush Baby Calls. To make sure that there are still spaces available on the particular safaris. If there is availability of space, then complete the booking form and send it along with a 10% NON-REFUNDABLE deposit to confirm your booking. If the full amount is not paid as stipulated by your agent or prior to departure date of such a safari, Bushbaby Calls(Pty)Ltd may, at our own discretion and without notice, be entitled to regard the booking as cancelled and to re-book the vacancy. Late applicants may join safaris based on space availability basis.
Can I adjust/change my booking?
After confirming your booking and you wish to change to an alternative departure date, you may do so subject to availability and by agreement with our reservation office. An amendment fee will be charged.
Should we not be able to accommodate your request and you therefore must cancel, our usual cancellation procedure will apply
How do I get/travel to the camping site?
We have a dedicated team that offers the airport shuttle from the specified airport arrival terminal to your first destination.
Is there Wi-Fi connectivity at the camping sites?
It is highly limited – most of the time there is nothing at all, thus we suggest you let your family and business friends know beforehand about the limited contact.
Will I need a Visa?
When travelling to Botswana you will get a visa upon arrival. The visa will be valid for a maximum number of days 90 days per 365 day period (not calendar year). Certain nationalities have to obtain a visa beforehand so please check with your local Botswana embassy or consulate.
Can I bring along my partner as a non-paying participant?
